Project Initiation Document

A project source document is a project guide that clearly explains the rationale for the project, what its objectives are and how the project will be organized. This ensures that everyone knows what is happening up front.

Project Inception Documentation (PID) is one of the most important artifacts in project management, which forms the foundation of a business project.

The PID combines the information obtained during launch and project initiation in a project environment powered by PRINCE2. Renaming the PRINCE2 2009 document on a file refers to all the documents gathered to build the project, not all of the system information.

The Project Inception document provides a reference point for the entire project for both the client and the project team.

Project installation documentation often includes the following:

    Project Objectives
    Area
    project organization
    business model
    Limitations
    Related Parties
    risk
    project control
    report framework
    PID disconnect
