This module describes the planning processes and some of the key planning instruments. All of them are suitable for participatory planning processes involving different types of stakeholders. In order to assure a high degree of participation, many of the instruments are best used in a workshop setting with up to 12 participants. Such a workshop normally lasts four or five days and requires professional facilitation and continuous visualization.
